One of my favorite parts of working for Maury’s Music is the opportunity to collaborate with Maury on exclusive Custom Shop guitar runs. Martin’s Custom Shop gives us a chance to really explore the possibilities of Martin instruments, taking the daydream guitars that we all think about and refining the ideas into something that we feel our customers will truly love.
Over the years Martin has changed the exact position of the "X " bracing numerous times, but on modern Martins the standard positioning of the center of this X is about 1.5” from the soundhole. If the center of the X gets closer to the soundhole this is known as forward shifting. If the center is farther away it’s known as rear-shifting.
Nick and Maury have played together in several bands over the years, and from time to time Nick drops by for a visit. This time we caught him on camera!
At Maury's Music, we play the products we sell. Maury has performed onstage with some very talented local musicians over the years, and from time to time, many of them stop by for a visit.
Many guitar companies are looking towards more responsibly sourced woods with which to build their instruments, both for their more positive impact on the word at large as well as the security they will provide for the manufacturer years down the line.
