In an effort to show you what these different acoustic guitar pickups truly sound like, Maury brought 4 Martins and his Bose PA system to Echo Back Sound in New Holland, PA. Engineer Dave Patterson recorded these guitars and pickups 3 different ways:
- guitar unplugged, mic'd in stereo
- pickup recorded direct to the computer
- pickup through the Bose PA system

If you're considering using your new pickup system to record, the direct recordings are a great resource. If you'll be plugging in to an acoustic amp at home, or a PA at gigs/open mic nights, the recording of the Bose PA system will really help you hear the sound of the guitar pickups amplified & colored by speakers. Everything was recorded flat. With a little bit of EQ, all of these pickups can be dialed in to your tonal preference.
