Martin Modern Deluxe Series

"The D-28 Modern Deluxe hit it out of the park. I had always wanted a D-28; glad I waited for the MD. It sounded 50 years old right out of the box." – Roger Kern, veteran player of many Martins

Thank you for your business, Roger! We agree entirely. The MDs are in another league from the already awesome Standard Series. And the latest models have now expanded the amazing Modern Deluxe Series from four models to ELEVEN!

New for 2022 - D-45 Modern Deluxe, D-42 Modern Deluxe, 000-42 Modern Deluxe, 000-18 Modern Deluxe, 00-28 Modern Deluxe, 0012-28 Modern Deluxe, and 012-28 Modern Deluxe, exciting new versions of classic Martin Models that join the D-28 Modern Deluxe, D-18 Modern Deluxe, OM-28 Modern Deluxe, and 000-28 Modern Deluxe, which offer even more voices to Martin’s time-tested time-machine choir, thanks to their Vintage Tone System® tops and bracing.

Each Modern Deluxe guitar combines the VTS technology with innovative breakthroughs in twenty-first century guitar technologies that were previously available only on Martin's luxury Limited Editions.

The two-way adjustable titanium alloy neck rod is super-strong but ultralight, reducing an instrument’s overall weight. A force-efficient carbon fiber bridge plate transmits greater tone-producing energy to the VTS scalloped bracing and VTS top. And the futuristic Liquidmetal® bridge pins cause zero dampening, making sure that all of the energy you put into the strings comes out of the sound hole as legendary Martin guitar tone.

The VTS treatment makes the most of classic tonewoods like Genuine Mahogany, East Indian Rosewood, and Sitka Spruce tops supported with Adirondack spruce bracing. Genuine Mahogany necks with traditional hand-fitted dovetail neck joints sport Martin’s brand-new Vintage Deluxe profile, providing the slightly skewed shape of an early ‘30s Martin neck, for better comfort and an awesome vintage Martin feel.

Other upscale specs include a full gloss body finish, natural protein glue for the top braces, and boutique appointments like figured wooden bindings, stylish gold frets and tuning machines, and a headstock logo used for only a short time in the early 1930s. But it’s not a decal like on the Standard Series guitars. These Modern Deluxe models have it inlaid in colorful abalone shell, just like the vintage era fret markers.
