Review: Martin D-41
Rating you give the Martin D41: 2 - Did the job nothing special
Likes: Good enough tone, pretty guitar, sometimes muddy tone, tho. I might have gotten a dud.
Dislikes: Neck is too wide. I am wondering if they installed a 1 3/4" neck instead of their sacred
1&11/16" neck.
Additional Comments: I have owned Gibson's, Fender Strat's, Other acoustics and electrics, this Martin D-41 holds no special fascination for me.

Review: D 41
Rating you give the Martin D41: 5 - Best thing I ever played
Likes: The guitar as a whole is outstanding.
Dislikes: None
Additional Comments: I have had many D-45s built over the years from D-12-45 to a Special FLame KOA 45. This D-41 is outstanding. I changed from Medium to Light Martin SP strings. Finger picking is very responsive when playing softly and the harmonics are pure. This is one I will enjoy for many years and look forward to hearing the difference with age.

Additional Comments: I've been playing guitar for 35+ years and have always dreamed of owning a D45. Well, I've found that my dreams can come true. The Martin D41 is the perfect fit for the accomplished player who has a modest budget. "The Price is Right" while considering this instrument. Imagine, playing a piece of history. With the Martin Company being in existence for 175 years. That alone should say it all. I once had a friend that used to say. Why buy the guitar that the biggest sales pitch is, "it is as good as the Martin", when you can buy the "as good as" model itself? Believe me, to sit down and play the D41 (or D45 minus 800 pieces of abalone inlay) you will find it intoxicating. The sound surrounds you in a complete way that to experience the way it sounds and feels is only the true measurement of it's worth. My words can only entice you. Let the full, rich sound of the history of how the D41 is made capture you too.
I have played many, many acoustic guitars (and own many as well). From my Taylor 814CE to my lowly Gibson dreads. Understand, you must own a Martin to complete your guitar inventory. My problem is, I only want to play my D41. I also love the 175 years of history behind my Martin. It is truly the "as good as" guitar. Why own anything else?

Rating you give the Martin D-41: 5 - Best thing I ever played
Likes: Easiest guitar to play, great tone, long sustain great looks.
Dislikes: Need to buy a cheap 500 dollar Martin to travel with afraid of someone stealing the D41.
Additional Comments: I bought it used from a friend 7 years ago. It sounds better now then when I bought it. He's sorry now that he did not keep it.
