The D-12E is new for 2019 and as the first Martin guitar made in the new Style 12, it stands apart from the rest of the Road Series with its uniquely retro styling. It is made to look like a D-18 from the years when that classic Standard Series model came with a black pickguard and binding, and top trim that included Style 18 purfling combined with the rosette and fretboard markers of a D-28.
The solid Spruce top on this acoustic-electric guitar gets a glassy gloss finish on the outside and scalloped bracing on the inside for optimum resonance. Unlike the rest of the Road Series, Style 12 has solid sapele back and sides with a dark mahogany coloring under a clear gloss finish, for a great looking, great sounding Dreadnought model at a nicely affordable price.
The modern High Performance neck is sleek in the hand, and fast playing thanks to the hand-rubbed finish, and its deep, dark fretboard and bridge are made from eco-friendly FSC® Certified Richlite®. And the Fishman® MX-T electronics include an onboard tuner, discretely located inside the sound hole. It mutes your outgoing audio when you turn it to tune up.
This new Style 12 Dreadnought comes standard with a Road-ready Premium Soft Shell Case for light and easy traveling around town or on the open road, seriously.
