A solid spruce top is matched with the glorious beauty of gorgeous ziricote fine veneer that graces the back and sides of this very special edition that celebrates the first expansion of Martin’s revolutionary 13-fret S series, named after the serpentine shape of the exclusive asymmetrical body. You will never play a more-comfortable acoustic-electric guitar.
Featuring the Sure Align neck system that requires no neck heel, the 13-fret SC-13E Special lets you play amazing lead guitar solos all the way up the fingerboard. No more having to contort your hand for barre chords in the cutaway area! The ergonomic Low Profile Velocity neck has a barrel that is skewed to accommodate your hand at every position. A certified Martin technician can align the neck to any action or string gauge you prefer, to match your favorite electric guitar, or your favorite vintage Martin!
The 13-fret design allows for a long-scale neck that feels as comfortable as a short-scale Martin. The 000 side depth ensures balanced acoustic tone while the asymmetrical body shape guarantees that your plugged-in sound will provide more gain without feedback issues.
Designed with the concert stage in mind, this special edition has been upgrade to the LR Baggs Element pickup system with onboard EAS volume and tone controls hidden inside the sound hole. It also comes with super-cool skeleton ratio tuning machines that allow you to adjust each tuner the same distance to achieve the exact same change in pitch. And they look fantastic!
The entire guitar looks fantastic. From the silver headstock script logo, to the unique Aperture sound hole rosette and fret positon markers made from the same stunning ziricote used for the back and sides, it is showpiece for any show, from a stadium tour to your local open mic.
