With the head-turning looks of a vintage D-18 whose shaded top has mellowed into a soft amber glow, this new amberburst allows all the beautiful wood grain to show through from the sold spruce top. Like the Genuine Mahogany back and sides, the top has a smooth satin finish that feels as nice as the satiny High Performance neck. The traditional dovetail neck joint and scalloped, forward-shifted braces enhance the full-bodied tone that have brought musicians to Martin’s Standard Series in search of the warm bass, bright trebles found in the punchy mahogany tone that set the world standard for what a professional-level guitar should be.
Martin Dreadnoughts, like the D-18, are known for their loud, projective tone and strong bass. This model is built to the same specifications as the standard D-18, but now Martin offers this longtime staple with a satin finish top, back, and sides and an eye- catching amberburst. The D-18 Satin Amberburst is also crafted with mahogany back and sides, so you’ll still enjoy plenty of volume and pick up some bright trebles and punchy midrange tones. The scalloped bracing on this model contributes volume and a fuller sound than non- scalloped bracing. If you’re looking for a satin-finished Standard Series guitar that stands out from the crowd, the D-18 Satin Amberburst fits the bill.
