The 000-42 Modern Deluxe is the deluxe and modern rendition of the vintage 000-42 that appeared in the 1930s, was replicated in the 1990s, and now resides in the Standard Series. But there has never been a 000-42 with so many upscale features, like genuine mother-of-pearl bordering the stunning fret markers of abalone snowflakes, cat's eyes, and diamonds, and crowned by a bordered abalone torch headstock inlay that's even fancier than the one on a 1930 OM-45 Deluxe! And how about those large snowflakes on the bridge? Twinkling as jewels!
And talk about bejeweled tone!! The all-solid wood construction radiates with vintage Martin tone. The top-grade VTS Spruce top has 1/4 Golden Era scalloped braces made from VTS Adirondack spruce and attached with natural protein glue. East Indian rosewood of the highest grade provides layered overtones as lush and complex to the ear as its richly textured grain is the eye.
The composite carbon fiber bridge plate with its VTS Adirondack spruce core and the volume-boosting Liquidmetal bridge pins ensure a minimal amount of energy is lost on its way creating the vibrant and sophisticated voice of this stunning, top-shelf 000 with its short-scale, Genuine Mahogany neck support by an adjustable titanium alloy truss rod.
The Vintage Deluxe profile is low and fast, but with an asymmetrical shaping taken from an actual pre-war OM-45 Deluxe, so it fits perfectly in the hand at every position. The High Performance taper fretboard has EVO Golden frets, infused with copper to resist fret wear, while looking as upscale as the gold tuners and that that glorious torch headstock inlay.
