The Genuine Mahogany back and sides are joined with a VTS Spruce top supported by 1/4" VTS Adirondack Golden Era scalloped braces that are attached with natural protein glue, and a composite carbon fiber bridge plate, for a voice that sounds "50 years old right out of the box."
The short-scale Vintage Deluxe neck is also made from Genuine mahogany behind a solid ebony fretboard with the High Performance taper that's 1-3/4" at the nut and 2-5/16" at the 12th fret. Deluxe features include rosewood bindings, Liquidmetal bridge pins for increased volume, a titanium alloy neck rod for increased energy transference from neck to the body, EVO Gold frets for longer fret life, matching gold tuners, and a rare early 1930s script logo that adorns the headstock, inlaid with pearl. Like its big sibling, the D-18 Modern Deluxe Lefty, the 000-18 Modern Deluxe Lefty is a mahogany lover's dream come true.
