The Martin LX1E is a Little Martin made in Style X1 with onboard Electronics.
The many guitarists who already own one of these Little Martins hold theirs with great affection. And that includes Ed Sheeran, who rocketed to superstardom playing a Little Martin LX1E. The smallest Martin made, it provides a surprisingly impressive amount of sound when plugged in, thanks to Fishman's sonitone pickup system. If you don't have a need for a pickup, you may be interested in non-electric Martin LX1.
When played unplugged the Little Martin LX1E provides sweet tone thanks to the solid spruce top on a guitar hardly larger than a ukulele, but offering the extended tonal pallet of six strings reaching two full octaves.
Its 23" string scale means it is effortless to play, and even small enough for children just learning to play guitar. And its overall petite size makes it an ideal travel guitar that can be easily transported to the most remote and exotic locals, or strummed around the bonfire at your own backyard barbeque.
The LX1E's body is a modified version of Martin's Size 0, which was a favorite of legendary folk troubadour Woody Guthrie. And its back and sides are made from sturdy high pressure laminate (HPL) that can easily withstand all the hard travelin' and road trip ramblin' of today's on the go musician.
